Heidi Stelzig, M.S.Ed., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Dayton.  She earned her Associates Degree in Mental Health/Chemical Dependency/Mental Retardation from Columbus State Community College and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Otterbein College.

Ms. Stelzig has been in the counseling profession for 18 years.  Her clinical experiences include work with children, individual adults and couples.  She has extensive experience in treating children and parents in a variety of settings including Outpatient Private Practice, Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services, Foster Care, Juvenile Correctional Facilities, Group Homes, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Care.

In her work with children, she utilizes the relationship, play therapy, behavior modification, and partnering with parents to help children overcome behaviors, thoughts, and emotions that interfere with emotional, social, and academic functioning.  Her focus with parents includes offering emotional support and the teaching of positive parenting skills.  Parents may be requested to join in the play which will enable them to learn esteem enhancing techniques and ultimately help sustain their child's growth.  Active participation between sessions often aids children and families to reach optimal growth and success.  "Homework" may be assigned and celebrated.  Ms. Stelzig believes that clients are best served by their team of family and teachers.  To that end, collaboration is key.

Ms. Stelzig provides counseling services to children, adults and couples with mental and emotional disorders.
