My name is Joe Stevenson and I am a licensed Professional Counselor and Behavioral Specialist. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Slippery Rock University and my Master’s degree in Psychology Counseling from Chatham University, in Pittsburgh, PA.  I have been a Counselor in the Pittsburgh area for many years in Community Mental Health working with individuals, youth, and families. I have extensive experience and training with individuals with Autism and other developmental issues. I completed training on Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and their Families, through the Center for Deployment Psychology. The focus of this training was on: Sleep disturbance, Traumatic Brain Injury, Suicidal Behavior, Substance Abuse, and Depression.

Good progress understands that the body, mind and spirit interact for good overall health I take a holistic approach to reduce current stress, address persistent negative thoughts, and  process difficult life experiences and relationships. We can utilize a combination of Cognitive behavioral, Coping skills and Holistic theory.  Areas of focus include mood disorders, depression, stress management, anxiety disorders, ADHD, ADD, autism, behavior modification, spirituality, family issues, and relationship issues.

I see adults, children, and adolescents and have appointments available in our Wexford location.
