Julie Zubryd, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Slippery Rock University. She is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Julie provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults struggling with a wide range of difficulties including, PTSD, trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, adjustment reactions, life changes, grief and loss, relationship issues, behavior disorders, anger management issues, bipolar and other personality disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation and self-injury, sexual abuse prevention, and family dysfunction. Primary treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Play Therapy, Psychoeducation, Supportive Psychotherapy and Trauma Focused Therapy. She provides guided relaxation sessions for her clients as needed.

She has been working in the mental health field since 1996.  She has worked in a variety of settings including adolescent residential treatment facility, independent living group home for adults, partial hospitalization, outpatient services, behavioral health rehabilitation services (wraparound, mobile therapist, behavioral specialist consultant), and university student counseling center.  She previously worked as the Clinical Supervisor for a residential treatment facility and was involved in several projects including creating female responsive services, implementing the Sanctuary Model, a trauma informed care model, and providing more efficient trainings to the staff.

Ms. Zubryd is certified in Rational Emotive Behavior Theory and Techniques through the Albert Ellis Institute.  She is a certified facilitator of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment Curriculum and a certified trainer of the curriculum for facilitators through the PA Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Project.

She brings energy and passion not only to her professional life, but also to her personal life.  She is the mother of twins.
